The Family Maternity Center at Sentara Healthcare Leigh Hospital welcomed a special delivery on April 24, 2023: boxes and boxes of books for babies! Last year, Norfolk Public Schools' department of Early Learning and Title I Education kicked off the program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and has provided a book to each of the 300 babies born there each month since then. Now, the 3,200 babies born each year at Sentara Leigh Hospital will receive their own book delivered to their families along with a birthday card and a cake. This gift keeps on giving: parents can sign up to receive a free book for the child's first FIVE birthdays! It's never too early for babies to have books!
