The first day of school unfolded with a blend of excitement and accomplishment, as students and teachers embraced a fresh start with enthusiasm and anticipation on Monday, August 19th. The halls buzzed with the energy of new beginnings and the air was filled with the scent of new books and crisp school supplies as principals, assistant principals, teachers, administrators, and staff welcomed over 14,000 students back to school. Superintendent Dr. Sharon I. Byrdsong joined several elected officials in visiting some of our schools to encourage new principals and teachers alike. From the first bell to the final dismissal, the day was marked by engaging instruction, welcoming classrooms, culturally relevant lessons, and the promise of new friendships and discoveries. Each smile and eager conversation hinted at the potential of the year ahead, setting a positive tone for the triumphs to come.
