More than 400 new full-time teachers took part in Norfolk Public Schools’ 2024 New Teacher Institute August 6-8, 2024. The unique professional development opportunity offered participants the chance to engage with fellow educators just beginning their teaching careers and veteran professionals alike. Attendees heard from Superintendent Dr. Sharon I. Byrdsong, keynote speaker Mr. Robert Jackson, and Norfolk Public Schools Teacher of the Year Mrs. Melissa Hales.
